As part of our business\'s growth strategy we are developing an internal stockbroking capability aimed at improving our service offering to our high net worth customer base. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be part of a new business and we are currently looking for a talented Financial Control Team Leader to join the team.
In this role you will lead a team of associates responsible for efficient processing of all payment and receipt activities, as well as:
- Identifying, managing and analysing loss events and breaches and their causes; ensuring appropriate treatment activities are implemented
- Influencing the design and implementation of operating procedures and processes; and participate in continuous improvement activities
- Responsible for 1st line of reconciliation preparation of Cash and Securities accounts
- Ensure outsourced services remain compliant with ASX/ACH market and clearing rules
- Ensure trust client monies are handled in accordance with ASX/ACH rules with self assessment procedure and policy on any error identified in a timely manner
- Provide timely settlement, position and transaction reports from source systems to key stakeholders and business partners
- Provide strategic direction for source systems supporting Operations
- Ensure adequate segregation of duties and controls to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions
- Recruit, develop and manage a high performing team
Previous experience in a similar position is essential as well as a strong understanding of operational functionalities including ASX/ACH/ASTC Market clearing and settlement rules. In addition, a strong understanding of financial instruments such as Equities, Derivatives and Managed Funds would be highly regarded.
